VISION:               Healthy and socio-economically empowered rural communities in Uganda.

MISSION:     Our mission is the empowerment of social-economic development amongst the CIU membership and other needy communities in Uganda through support of moral rehabilitation, health, education, household incomes, food security and environmental conservation programs.

OBJECTIVES

To achieve the above vision and mission, the organization shall use the following objectives;

a)  To promote the increase of household incomes in Uganda

b) To promote food security interventions in Uganda

c)  To enhance integrated health care amongst vulnerable communities in Uganda.

d) To promote the educational enhancement of vulnerable persons in Uganda.

e)  To continuously increase our organizational capacity to accomplish our objectives.

STRATEGIES

Amongst other things CIU shall strive to accomplish her objectives through the following strategies:

                    i.        Work with all stakeholders and use participatory methodologies in problem analysis, action planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

                   ii.        Collaborate with government of Uganda in order to accomplish our objectives.

                 iii.        Collaborate and network with other development partners from within and outside Uganda towards the achievement of our objectives.

                 iv.        Strive to reinstate and/or promote confidence amongst the impoverished Ugandans regarding their (sometimes hidden) abilities to solve their problems.

                  v.        Provide corporate and individual counseling services to developing communities in Uganda.

In our strategies, we shall include cross-cutting issues like

a.  Environmental conservation

b.  Advocate for the prevention and/or control of the killer diseases like HIV/AIDS/STDs, malaria, typhoid, malnourishment and others.

c.   Enhance gender analysis and mainstreaming

d.  Use theatre for development (music, art, and drama, done by the community, in their community for beneficial information, education and communication to the same community).

e.  Develop a network of good hearted-people who can voluntarily sponsor disadvantaged children and old persons to access functional education, which they would otherwise never acquire.

f.    Carry out income generating projects that will augment our financial resource base in order to achieve the set objectives.

g.  Facilitate needy communities to raise multilateral resources that would enable them accomplish their development purposes.

h.  Establish and operate educational and vocational institutions in order to access quality education to the needy persons who otherwise have been segregated by various socio-economic circumstances.

i.    Establish and operate health service institution for the purposes of reaching out to the needy.

j.    Participate in continuous research and learning that will accomplish our objectives.

k.  Design regulate and operate a micro finance program that will enable our beneficiaries to access soft loans at a relatively fair terms.

l.    Adopt any other strategies that will prove commensurate with the accomplishment of our objectives.
